Meet The Maker

Hi, I’m Kylee, the 22-year-old maker behind Native Cypress. I’m a full-time college student working toward my bachelor’s degree in Health Administration. I also work as a surgical assistant for a Oral & Maxillofacial and Facial Cosmetic Surgery practice. Between school, work, and running my small business, my days are full—but creating is where I find joy, balance, and purpose.

My inspiration comes from my grandparents, who own a sawmill called J & S Cypress in Sorrento, Fl. Growing up, I watched my grandpa work with his hands, shaping raw materials into something beautiful and lasting. Today, he supplies all the wood used in my products, making every board, coaster, and craft a true family effort.

The name Native Cypress carries pieces of my heritage and my roots. My family is Native American, and “Cypress” is a nod to my grandparent’s sawmill—the place that sparked this entire journey. It felt right to build a brand that reflects both where I come from and the craftsmanship passed down through generations.

Every oyster candle, cedar board, and coastal-inspired piece is made by hand, thoughtfully, and with pride. This business is more than a creative outlet—it’s a blend of family legacy, cultural meaning, and the coastal beauty I love to share.

Thank you for being here, supporting my work, and helping this dream grow. I hope every piece brings a bit of warmth, story, and coastal charm into your home.
